From concept to production within few days.
3D-printing technology fills the need for low-cost short series production.
This R&D project was launched to validate use of 3D-printing technology for injection tools making. Design guidelines for standard tools cannot be used for tools with 3D-printed forming parts. KarT successfully tested such solution confirming at the same time own technical assumptions and range of polymers that can be injection with such a mold.
Depending on part’s geometry and used resin a series of 30 to 100 shots can be produced. The cost and lead-time for tool manufacturing is significantly lower as compared to standard injection mold solutions. Parts including undercuts can also be manufactured – exchangeable, steel inserts are then being used.
